US magazine Entertainment Weekly looked at films, TV shows, albums, books, characters, dresses, music videos and trends to come up with a “top 100” list of the things that have kept us entertained.
It said: “Harry Potter lives in our memories more vividly than any other character we’ve read or seen on screen this decade.
“It’s precisely because JK Rowling created him not as a mighty doer of epic deeds but as a regular kid; a teenager just trying to get by in a crazy, scary world. Who can’t relate to that?”
The Sopranos TV series came second to Harry Potter.
YouTube was third and the film The Lord of the Rings came fourth. Ricky Gervais’s hit TV series The Office was 28th.
The almost-transparent Versace dress worn by singer Jennifer Lopez at the 2000 Grammy Awards was 29th on the list compiled by the staff at the magazine.
Daniel Craig wearing blue swimming trunks in the film Casino Royale came 71st.
Meanwhile the magazine chose The Lord of the Rings as the greatest film of the decade and the US series The Sopranos was the best TV show.

The first trailer from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has been released. This trailer is for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1, and marks the beginning of the final chapter in the series. Book seven of the Harry Potter series has been split into two movies, and the first part will come out in November. It does seem like a long time to wait, but fans of the series will probably still be lined up to be the first one to see the new films.

Harry Potter is back in a new gaming adventure for Xbox 360 adventure! And with promises of creating magical potions, joining a dueling club and perfecting our Quidditch skills, this is one game we were super-excited to try out!

The storyline in the game does follow the one in the book/movie pretty closely in that your mission in Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince for Xbox 360 is to help Harry and his friends eliminate the threat of Lord Voldermort once and for all.
The game also gives you the chance to explore Hogwarts School of Witchcraft And Wizardry, complete with moving staircases, hidden passages and talking portraits. While you’re looking around, you’ll be searching for 150 hidden crests and participating in a bunch of magically-themed mini-games: wizard duels, potion making and Quidditch. There are also badges to collect by doing things like beating the current wizard dueling champion or coming top of your potions class. Once you've completed the main story mission you can enter Endless Day mode where you're free to explore Hogwarts and search for any remaining crests or complete any unfinished side objectives.

Daniel Radcliffe will be Nude on Final Harry Potter Movie
Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe is set to have several nude scenes in the upcoming film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the final chapter in British author J.K. Rowling’s hugely popular series of children’s books and whose first part is due to be released on November 2010 and the second on July 2011.
Deathly Hallows director David Yates, who was also at the helm of the last two films about the famous boy wizard (2007’s Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and this year’s Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince), told the Spanish Web site La Vibra, that the young actor’s nudity will involve “a fascinating scene in which Harry and Ron are trying to destroy a Horcrux (a magical artifact created by Harry’s nemesis Voldemort to contain part of his soul). It tries to defend itself and creates an image of Voldemort’s soul that has a series of images where Harry and Hermione are kissing and embracing”. By extension, this would mean that Emma Watson, the actress who plays Hermione Granger, will also be appearing nude. Yates added that there will be “another scene in King’s Cross Station where Harry almost dies. In that scene he will also be naked”.

It should be noted that he famously performed completely naked in front of a live audience, playing the lead in the 2007 revival of Equus, the 1973 play by Peter Shaffer. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Tom Felton's Interview with MTV News
"Harry Potter" dream boat bad guy Tom Felton stopped by the MTV offices, so of course talk turned quickly to "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." The shoot is going to be split into two parts, the first to be released in November 2010 and the second and final "Harry Potter" film to be released in July 2011. MTV News' Tami Katzoff sat down with Tom and asked him for some details involving the novel's flash-forward postscript.
"We haven't shot that yet, and I still haven't had the confirmation whether I'm doing it or we're going to get someone else to do it," Tom told MTV News. "I haven't heard too much. I guess they're still making decisions about it now. It is a very exciting scene. I know Daniel [Radcliffe] and I have talked about it and said it'd be a lot of fun to do."
The decisions to be made in regards to the scene are whether the young actors will play their characters almost two decades into the future a la "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," or whether new older actors will be hired to fill the part.
When MTV talked to director David Yates about the dilemma back in July when he was promoting "Half-Blood Prince," he said, "There's something extraordinary about the audience's knowledge of them when they were this high and then seeing them where they are 38," he said. "There's something really beautiful about that circle, so it has to be them. I think if after seven or eight movies, we recast them in that last scene; we all thought, 'No way, we can't do that.'"
Turns out Tom wouldn't mind if American actors Leonardo DiCaprio or Brad Pitt were cast to play an adult Draco (somehow we don't think those two would quite fit the part), but did say, "It'd be kind of freaky to see what they come up with."
Daniel was a bit more excited about the prospect of his potential transformation when MTV spoke with him in July. "I might get to see what I'd look like if I was 5-foot-8, which will be a thrill for me!" he said with a laugh.

As the DVD of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" hits shelves Tuesday (December 8), the first peeks at the next and final films in the series — the two parts of "Deathly Hallows" — have begun to hit the Web: two photos and even a teaser trailer.
Behind that pristine multimedia, however, lies a production still very much in flux, as the cast told MTV News in recent interviews. Perhaps "flux" is even putting mildly, compared to star Daniel Radcliffe's characterization.
"It's chaos and it's fear and we're terrified we're not going to get it right, and it's absolute madness with rewrites and script changes and scripts not being written and then coming," he said with a smile. "It's just mad."
But Radcliffe and the "Potter" cast and crew have been this way before, and it all seems to work out in the end. The six films in the franchise have grossed more than $1.7 billion domestically.
"Amidst all that, something wonderful hopefully will emerge," Radcliffe said. "That's what I quite like about the film industry. Chaos bears something so cool and great and polished out into the world."
As the craziness of a film production swirls around them, the "Potter" cast — the nucleus of which has been in place for almost a decade — has been enjoying the chance to reunite on camera and after shooting wraps each day.
"It's been amazing to keep the core group of us here since the beginning," said Bonnie Wright, who plays Ginny Weasley. "No one's been left or changed. I think that dynamic has developed year to year. There's a safeness when you come back to the film. It's like coming back to school."
Exactly, and sometime schoolmates dole out a bit of good-natured name-calling to one another, as is the case with Rupert Grint, following his much-publicized illness this summer.
"It's been great seeing Rupert again, whose nickname is now Pigboy Heart Attack, after his bout with swine flu," Radcliffe laughed.

Director David Yates revealed: “Daniel has appeared nude in the past. There are a couple of scenes in the new film in which he will undress but we're still thinking about how we present it.”
The scene occurs when Harry's best friend and Hermione's love interest Ron Weasley, played by Rupert Grint, is battling a monster which tries to defend itself by flashing a series of images where Harry and Hermione are kissing and embracing."
Daniel will then expose himself in a later scene following a brush with death.
The director added: "There is another scene in Kings Cross station, where Harry almost dies and sees Dumbledore. In that scene he will also be naked."

The seventh and final book in JK Rowling's series about the boy wizard is being broken into two films, part one arriving in theaters next November, and part two sometime in 2011.
The first installment finds young wizards struggling to find their way in the Muggle (human) world, with their own lives in the balance and the fate of the magical realm in their hands.
"They're paranoid," Grint told USA today. "It's quite a scary world because the Snatchers and Death Eaters are running around everywhere. Harry, Ron and Hermione are just camping out in random places, living rough, in regular clothes."

"It's going to feel very real," added director David Yates. "We're going for a verite approach. Being away from Hogwarts, they're like these three refugees on the run. They're out in the big bad world, facing real danger, unguarded by those wonderful benign wizards at Hogwarts. They don't have a home to go to. We're kind of pulling away from the magic a bit and bringing more reality to it."
Meanwhile, Yates spoke with Video Business magazine and confirmed that Radcliffe, who is now 20, will appear naked at some point during the last two films. "A horcrux defends itself by producing nightmarish visions," Yates explained, "and one shows Hermione and Harry embracing and kissing. It's something intriguing and sensual for Rupert to react to, and Dan will be bare for that."

"It's going to feel very real," added director David Yates. "We're going for a verite approach. Being away from Hogwarts, they're like these three refugees on the run. They're out in the big bad world, facing real danger, unguarded by those wonderful benign wizards at Hogwarts. They don't have a home to go to. Meanwhile, Yates spoke with Video Business magazine and confirmed that Radcliffe, who is now 20, will appear naked at some point during the last two films. "A horcrux defends itself by producing nightmarish visions," Yates explained, "and one shows Hermione and Harry embracing and kissing. It's something intriguing and sensual for Rupert to react to, and Dan will be bare for that."

To help bring the final two installments to life, director David Yates has made a conscious effort to ground the films more in reality than the realm of magic. "We're going for a vérité approach," Yates explains to USA Today. "Being away from Hogwarts, they're like these three refugees on the run. They're out in the big bad world, facing real danger, unguarded by those wonderful benign wizards at Hogwarts. They don't have a home to go to."
USA Today also shares a new image from the film that features the trio of young stars in Muggle clothes near near Piccadilly Circus. A hint of scruff can be seen on Rupert Grint, a part of his wardrobe that helped him dodge fans while working on location. "Me and Dan actually have some stubble," Grint confirms, though it's hard to spot any fuzzy growth on Daniel's face in the first official picture below.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I is due in theaters November, 2010, with Part II arriving sometime in 2011.

The publicity machine is moving into high gear as we near the release of both the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince DVD and the first official images and footage from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Several readers owled to let us know that as seen on their official Twitter, eTalk Canada broadcast a short interview from the set of Deathly Hallows featuring interviews with Dan Radcliffe and Rupert Grint as well as Quidditch clip from HBP. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince release on DVD and Blu-ray December 7
WARNER HOME VIDEO today announced that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - the sixth film in the series - will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on December 7, with an array of bonus features.
On the Blu-ray, there is a exclusive look at the final chapter in the saga, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
There's also the chance to watch the movie at the same time as director David Yates and star Daniel Radcliffe and ask both of them questions from your home.
There will be a two-disc special edition DVD and a three-disc Blu-ray pack. Fans can also look forward to the simultaneous release of Harry Potter 1-6 box sets on Blu-ray and DVD formats.
Unique to the Blu-ray is the chance to hear star Daniel Radcliffe and director David Yates answer your questions at the first-ever worldwide Live Community Screening (LCS) on December 12, 2009 at 8pm GMT live from London.
The LCS will allow BD-Live Blu-ray users to watch the movie with Daniel Radcliffe and director David Yates and hear an interactive Q&A where fans can ask questions about the film directly to Daniel and David, directly from their home.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Premiere Schedule
In the upcoming films, Rhodri's character is described as a staff from the Magical Maintenance Department and his identity will be borrowed by Ron Weasley. "I basically have to be Ron pretending to be Reg," the actor told Wales Online about his part. "It means I have to kind of impersonate Ron which is quite a challenge."
Beside Rhodri, the next installment of the young wizard film will also introduce some new cast including David O'Hara as Albert Runcorn, and Sophie Thompson as Mafalda Hopkirk. Their characters' identities will be taken over by Harry and Hermione Granger while they sneak in to the Ministry of Magic building.
Thus, to film the scenes, Rhodri and the two new cast have met the depicter of the three young wizards. Moreover, the Welsh actor revealed how he and his new co-stars learned Harry and his friends' mannerisms while taking over the three adult characters. "They would do a scene and then we would do it after them," he said of the shooting preparation.
The final book of "Harry Potter" series will be made into two movies, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II". "Part I" is due for November 19, 2010 release in both U.S. and U.K., whereas "Part II" is slated to be premiered on July 15, 2011. In both films, Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson will return to reprise their roles as Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger.
